How To Get Fake Tan Off Your Hands Quickly
Orange hands are not ideal in any situation and for those of us who aren’t blessed with naturally sun-kissed, olive skin, it can be a common occurrence. Fake tan can be extremely difficult to remove from your hands due to all of the fine lines and small crevices that it can get stuck in.
And unless you only want to wear overly long sleeves every time you leave the house, we have some DIY fake tan removal hacks for you!
1. BATHE
This is absolutely necessary.. and relaxing!
Submerge yourself (or hands) in hot, steamy water to soften your skin cells making the fake tan easier to remove. You may also wish to add bubbles or oils to increase your chances of loosening the fake tan stuck on your hands.
2. SILK EXFOLIATION
For the most effective fake tan removal, silk exfoliation is known to be the best option.
Silk exfoliating gloves are specifically woven, using an ancient technique perfected over centuries. These exfoliating mitts sweep away dry skin cells and stubborn fake tan within seconds, to reveal a soft, smooth and glowing complexion.
This fake tan removal process is incredibly satisfying, does not damage the skin unlike other exfoliating gloves and leaves the skin cleansed, ready for your next fake tan application.
Our favourite silk exfoliator for fake tan removal is the My Glow 2 Fake Tan Removal Glove. It is Australia's best-selling exfoliating glove and is handcrafted from 100% vegan plant silk.
3. LEMON JUICE
There’s a lot of old wives tales about the benefits of lemon juice, but did you know that it is actually great at toning down fake tan?
Due to its natural bleaching qualities, it can lighten your fake tan when wiped across your skin. Simply dampen a towel with fresh lemon juice, place it in the microwave for a few seconds and gently rub it over the areas where you need your fake tan to fade.
4. BAKING SODA
Ok, so baking soda. Yes, you read that correctly. This little miracle ingredient helps to effortlessly remove stubborn fake tan in a few easy steps.
- Mix two tablespoons of baking soda with water until it forms a paste-like consistency.
- Lather the paste along the fake tanned areas and wait for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the paste and fake tan off your body with warm water
